Valentine Ndubuisi Benedict, AAT, ACA, HND Valentine qualified as an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)in November 2013. Owing to his love for gaining mastery in the field of accounting and reporting, he started his ICAN journey from the Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) level, where he bagged his Associate of Accounting Technicians (AAT) certificate. As a result, he is also a qualified Associate Member of the Association of Accountancy Bodies in West Africa (ABWA), a regional accounting organization of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) in September 2011. Valentine bagged Higher National Diploma in 2016 with Distinction, graduating as the overall best graduating student. He started off his working career while still writing his final stage of ICAN with Ayo Ayotade & Co, an Audit and Tax practitioners (on contract basis) between July to October, 2013, where he led team of auditors to conduct FIRS statutory back duty audit on some Commercial Banks for early and complete remittance of various tax revenue collected on behalf of the federal government, FIRS tax exercise. His working experience spans over 11 years having worked as audit trainee, accountant and internal control officer, senior accountant, and now Financial Controller. Valentine having worked as senior accountant, later promoted to assistant head of account in Poly Products Nigeria Limited, a company with five subsidiaries, manufacturing and selling to, servicing some top companies such as Totalenergies, Exxon-mobile, Conoil, TGI Group, NewBisco Nigeria, Vitabiotics, Intercontinental distiller Limited to name a few. He currently works with West African Packaging Ltd, a subsidiary of Daraju Industries Limited as the Financial Controller. This has availed him practical and sound understanding of manufacturing and retailing entities financial statements production, preparation and presentation process. Due to his extensive understanding of the financial reporting and his strong understanding of strategic business improvements (business analysis), his was tasked in his former work place to come up with business process improvements strategies as it relates to the accounts and Finance department. In the field of business analytics, he had undergone extensive training on business analysis with Hibreed Business School, Canada. Valentine enjoys and loves to create shared understanding and imparting knowledge which explains his passion and indefatigable desire to mentor and teach upcoming professionals His passion for imparting knowledge also saw him start his teaching career in 2010 when he was instructed to lecture ATS 1- Principles of Accounting, and ATS 2 Quantitative Analysis while writing ATS 3. He majored into private tutoring between 2012 till 2016 before joining a team of strong, experienced and dedicated professionals at Wide-Range Professionals Limited in January 2017. At Widerange, he had in time past taught courses like PM, SFM in addition to his core courses but currently he is the team lead on Financial Reporting and Case Study. He is currently the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) at Wide-Range. He also lectures at Password Proessional Tutors Limited, Akoka Yaba, January 2024 to date, and Maximus Professionals, Egbeda January 2020 to date, all being ICAN accredited centers.
